3:42 minutes of poetry to a hypnotic trotting rhythm, sung in a fairytale voice.
Magical words like labyrinth, rapture and afterglow. (Lyrics here.)
Trust Jo Whiley to find me Paper Forest by Emmy the Great (which is an awesome stage name). I love listening to Jo Whiley on my way back from the gym on Mondays. She almost always plays something I irrevocably fall in love with.
Emmy is 26. I have two years to get my act together. (Must somehow fit “learn how to play the guitar” in those two years. Possibly a slight long shot.)
Have I mentioned that I love the phrase “paper forest”? It conjures up a world of myth and story in just two simple words. Just listen to that song. Don’t you love it?
